FEASTS OF THE LORD - Leviticus 23 - 7 Appointed Feasts Of The Lord - Moedim - Spring Feasts & Fall Feasts - Complete Biblical Feasts Chart

The Feasts of the Lord: God’s Appointed Times
Main verse: Leviticus 23:2 says, “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: These are my appointed festivals, the festivals of the LORD, which you are to proclaim as sacred assemblies.”

Introduction: God did not create time by accident. Genesis 1:14 says the lights in the sky are “for signs and for seasons.” The Hebrew word for “seasons” here is moed, which means an appointed time or festival. Each of God’s feasts points to a plan he has set in advance. In this message we will see how these feasts are fulfilled in Yeshua (Jesus) and in the Holy Spirit.

1. Passover (Pesach): The Blood of the Lamb: On the night Israel was freed from slavery in Egypt, God told them to put the blood of a lamb on the doorposts of their homes (Exodus 12:7-9). The houses marked with blood were spared from death. In 1 Corinthians 15:20, Paul writes that Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. Yeshua is the true Lamb, and his blood brings our deliverance.

For your home: Is the shadow of Yeshua’s blood over your household? His deliverance is for every home.

2. Pentecost (Shavuot): The Holy Spirit Comes: In Acts 2:1-3, the Jews were celebrating the festival of firstfruits when the Holy Spirit came upon the apostles. According to Acts 2:41, about 3,000 people believed in Yeshua and were baptized that very day. It was the first great harvest of the Spirit.

For your home: Is your home open to the Holy Spirit? Pray for the people in your family and neighborhood.

3. Rosh Hashanah (Feast of Trumpets): The Last Trumpet

1 Corinthians 15:52 says, “at the last trumpet.” Just as trumpets once called people to prepare, this points to Christ’s return and the catching up of believers. It reminds us to stay awake and ready.

For your home: Is everyone in your home ready for the Lord’s return?

4. Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement): The High Priest’s Work, In ancient times, once a year the high priest entered the Most Holy Place to offer sacrifice for the sins of the people. Hebrews 9:11-12 shows that Yeshua is the High Priest who entered once for all, with his own blood, securing an eternal redemption. We no longer need repeated sacrifices, because Yeshua did enough once and for all.

For your home: Have you brought your sins before Yeshua? Trust in his sacrifice.

5. Sukkot (Feast of Booths): God Dwelling Among Us; During Sukkot, Israel lived in temporary booths to remember their years in the wilderness. It was a reminder that God dwelt among his people. In 2 Corinthians 6:16 we read, “I will dwell in them and walk among them.” Today every believer is a temple of God, because his Spirit lives within us.

For your home: Do you sense God’s presence in your home? Make him the center of your household.

3 Actions from These Feasts

  1. Receive Yeshua as your Passover Lamb and accept him into your life.
  2. Keep your heart open to the Holy Spirit every day.
  3. Honestly bring your sins before the Lord every day, so you are ready for the day he returns.

Prayer

Father, through your appointed feasts you showed us your plan. Cover our home with the blood of Yeshua, fill it with the Holy Spirit, and keep us ready for the day of your return. In the name of Yeshua, Amen.

Declaration: Yeshua is our Passover Lamb, our firstfruits, our High Priest, and the God who dwells among us. Every feast points to him.

Action for Today: Today, sit down with your family, choose one of these feasts, read its passage from Scripture, and talk about how it is fulfilled in Yeshua.

Shalom, - P. R. Jharbade
